Laura Ashley

Laura Ashley was a Welsh fashion designer and businesswoman. She originally made furnishing materials in the 1950s, expanding her business into clothing design and manufacture by the 1960s. The Laura Ashley style is romantic and often floral – referred to as a 19th-century rural cottage-core aesthetic. As part of her partnership with McCall's Patterns, Laura Ashley produced over 80 sewing patterns. The recent reissued designs have found a huge audience internationally. And copies of her original vintage patterns are considered collectors items in the sewing community.
