Sewing Bee 2023 Week 10 Patterns & Techniques

And with this week’s episode, the Sewing Bee 2023 is over! Don’t worry we’re not going to say who won on this post. But we hope you’re happy with the winner and their amazing makes from the final episode.

CHALLENGE 1

If you loved the dress sewn in challenge one of tonight’s episode we have THREE sewing patterns that are perfect for recreating the look!

McCall’s 8032

Available in Paper and PDF format, this dress has the fitted bodice you recognise from the show with a gorgeous full skirt, sleeve and hem ruffles. It’s perfect for luxe fabric like satin.

McCall’s 7994

Available as a PDF pattern, this dress has a more pencil style skirt, but features the same fitted bodice (this time with angled bust darts) and those iconic sleeve and hem ruffles!

McCall’s 7971

Last but not least, and available in Paper and PDF format, this dress has a longer length skirt (closest to the length on the show) and the fun sleeve ruffles of course. You can add your own skirt ruffle by cutting a rectangle 2x the hem width and gathering to attach.

CHALLENGE 3

We loved the final makes of the evening. Of course, you’ll have to do some creative pattern making to create a transforming dress but here are our picks of similar looks in case something took your fancy!

Asmaa wowed with her green glittery dress, featuring v neckline, lovely bow and maxi skirt. We love the idea of M8037 creating a similar feel. Remember to tie a nice big bow to impress Esme!

We loved Mia’s sweetheart neckline dress with heavily gathered skirt and thin shoulder straps. M7718 is so similiar! And you can choose to add optional shoulder details for extra glamour.

Tony kept things chic with a bateau neckline and column skirt in contrasting print. We bet you could use M8038 and mix fabrics to create a similar look.
