Maker’s Showcase: June

It’s officially summer! We love seeing all your summery and colourful makes and we thought we’d share a few of our favourites with you! Scroll down to see some amazing inspiration from the makers and creators from our sewing community.

Get ready to swoon..

We’re starting off with this fabulous top made by @itsmelaniedarling. She has made the McCalls 6797 as part of her wardrobe building series. It’s a fantastic shape and being made in jersey makes it really comfortable. Win win!

When the back of your dress is as good as the front! We love the Liberty print fabric @six_mignons_by_elisenne used to make the Vogue Patterns 9100.. perfect for a summer event don’t you think!?

If we’d made this skirt we’d have been dancing for joy too!!! @theravelout has NAILED the McCalls 7725 and we have to say we love the t-shirt too!

This picture took our breath away. What a fantastic make, @periodwardrobe used the Simplicity 1465 for the blouse and Butterick 6330 for the suit and we think you’ll all agree it looks wonderful!

We love seeing our patterns being tweaked and changed to suit the maker. @whatbellamade has made the New Look 6544 trousers, which have been made high waisted and pockets added in. The top comes from indie pattern company Tessuti – we adore this outfit!

We think you’ll all agree that @mightbesarah outfit for Disneyland is rather wonderful! She’s wearing the lovely Butterick 6453 in a yellow gingham.

What a pop of colour from @katiekortmanart who’s made the McCalls 7834 in fabric she designed herself!!! You can also buy this print from Spoonflower. I don’t know about you but we want to create this exact look…

Last, but certainly not least! @giggle_maker has made an amazing version of Vogue 9311. That ombre fabric is perfection!

Don’t forget to share your latest makes with us on social media using the hashtags #simplicitybyme or #mccallsbyme. We can’t wait to see what you’ve been making. There are prizes to be won each month too!
