Mimi started a hugely popular YouTube sewing channel sharing DIY fashion videos in a fun approachable way. After signing her first licensing deal in 2014 for a pattern line with Simplicity, ‘Mimi G’ connected with a huge community of DIY sewists that loved dressmaking as much as she did.

Some of her early patterns are so popular that they’ve never left the range. From the Simplicity 8177 workwear set, S8516 the essential jeans pattern and S9114 a breezy shirtdress and coordinates bumper pack all being bestsellers from her collection.

Then following several years of success as a licensee, Mimi G agreed to join Simplicity as the Vice President of Design, Brand Strategy, and Patterns, to help drive pattern development into a new direction. This included setting up the Know Me Pattern brand! Learn more about our brand made by makers, for makers – featuring sewists from the community and helping them share their designs just like Mimi does.
