Pattern Favourites: Winter Capsule Wardrobe
Don’t let Winter leave you cold! Have a browse through some of our favourite patterns and sew up some cosy makes.

Pattern: McCall’s 8144.
If you are looking for a top that will keep you warm and toasty, then look no further than McCall’s 8144. This cowl-neck top comes with three amazing sleeve variations and different hem finishes. We’re sure you’ll reach for this pattern over and over again.

Pattern: Simplicity 9179.
Simplicity SP107 is a cool wrap skirt that can be made in lightweight fabrics for Spring or suede for a winter staple. We love the curved hem!

Pattern: Vogue 1715.
You’ll find lots of lovely and unusual details in this design by Sandra Betzina. It includes a boxy, lined waistcoat with oversized shawl collar and pleated back. And lantern style cuffed trousers with a contoured front band, elasticated back and pockets.

Pattern: Simplicity 9175.
This comfy midi dress includes a pareo wrap variation, a cowl neck, and 3 sleeve variations. Simplicity 9175 looks chic and is easy to style – all year round.

Pattern: Burda Style 6315.
This pattern is the only sweatshirt pattern you’ll ever need. It includes lots of options to make it suit your style, from casual chic with a crew neck and straight sleeves, to sporty with a hoodie and kangaroo pocket.

Pattern: Vogue 1729.
Beautiful side pleat hem details which create a balloon shape, big side front pockets, invisible zip closure… What’s not to love about the Vogue 1729 trousers?!

Pattern: Burda Style 5975.
Burda Style 5975 is a loose fitting dress that is easy to combine with chunky boots or stylish heels, and everything in between. Its a pull on style with raised waist seams and inverted pleats.

Pattern: Vogue 1717.
Create a mini winter capsule wardrobe with Vogue 1717. This pattern includes a semi-fitted lined coat in 2 lengths. A semi-fitted wrap-skirt and cropped trousers.

Pattern: McCall’s 8156.
We love the dramatic look of McCall’s 8156. It’s a fitted princess-seamed coat, with a button front closure, a waist seam, and an eye-catching flared skirt (in 2 different lengths).

Pattern: Simplicity 9210.
Are you looking to lounge around the house in style? Simplicity 9210 includes everything you need. Choose from different tops and tunics, shorts and trousers, and you can even add matching slipper-booties!

Pattern: McCall’s 7839.
How cute are these pompoms on this McCall’s sweater? This pattern is really versatile with a huge five variations covering everything from a basic sweater to polo neck and hoodie with contrasting panels. Use a medium stretch knit fabric such as a sweatshirt fleece or French Terry.

Pattern: McCall’s 7840
This loose fitting pullover top has four variations to choose from. Either keep it simple with a back yoke, dropped shoulders and patch pocket or add sleeves, cuffs and a curved shirt hem. This top is great for pairing with jeans and works so well in an on trend fabric such as the plaid featured below.
