How To Make A Ninja Hood

Instructions:

Note: This one-piece pattern has been provided on a grid that is scaled down to 25% of actual size; when actual size, the pattern measures 13 1/2″ wide X 18 1/2″ tall.

To create the full-sized pattern, begin with a piece of paper that measures at least 14″ X 19″, marked with a grid that is 1/2″ square. If you don’t have paper with the grid already printed on it, use a ruler and pencil to draw horizontal parallel lines 1/2″ apart and then draw vertical parallel lines 1/2″ apart, until the grid covers the entire sheet of paper.

Using the small-scale pattern shown below as a guide, draw the outline of the hood and mask on the 1/2″ grid. Add the notch and dart markings, again using the small-scale pattern below to guide you. When complete you will have the pattern piece in its actual 13 1/2″ x 18 1/2″ size, which fits most boys’ sizes 3-8.

You will need 1/2 yard of fabric for the hood and mask. Cut two hood pieces from this fabric and follow the simple sewing instructions below for a quick and easy accessory that is the perfect finishing touch for your own Ninja!
