How To Make A Memory Book

Materials Needed

• Purchased plain photo album (sample was 9 1/4” L x 7”W x 2”D)
• 1/2 yard of fabric
• 1/2 yard of fleece
• 1 package of 5/8” wide jumbo rick rack

Instructions

Step 1: For outside cover, with the book closed, measure the width from the front opening around the binding to the back opening edge – add 2”

Step 2: For the length, measure the binding length – add 1 1/2”

Step 3: Cut rectangle using these measurements of both fleece & fabric

Step 4: Sew rick rack on fabric as desired

Step 5: For inside flaps, measure inside cover for the width and add 1 1/2”

Step 6: The length will be the same as the outside cover

Step 7: Cut two rectangles using this measurement of fabric

Step 8: On inside edge of each piece stitch a 1/2” hem

Step 9: Stitch inside flaps to the outside cover at the ends

Step 10: Turn album cover right side out and press under 1/2” at top and bottom of outside cover between the flaps

Step 11: Hand sew edge to fleece
