Spring in your step?

It’s that time of year again! We’re feeling spring-like here at Simplicity; the weather is starting to brighten up and the days are getting longer. It’s also the time of year when many of us start to think about a spring clean! To help make the job as painless as possible, we’ve got a list of handy tips and tricks for spring cleaning your craft room.

Old projects?

You may be guilty of having old makes in your craft room that you’re just not getting any wear out of anymore. Have a clear out of anything you’re not keen on, or anything that doesn’t fit. Then either sell them, or even better, donate them! This is a great first step on the spring cleaning ladder.

Sewing machine maintenance

Every machine needs a little love now and then, so why not take this opportunity to give it some TLC? Always refer to the machine manual for specific advice, but our general tips would include changing the needle regularly, using compressed air cans to clean out dust and cleaning out the tension discs, using a thin piece of fabric.

Clean, clean, clean!

Now is the time to tackle those jobs that are usually out of sight and out of mind. Empty and clean storage containers, use a gentle cleaning mat to clean your cutting mat – even wash your ironing board cover!

Organisation is key
