So, after a summer of stunning Simplicity Sewing Challenge makes flooding in, we finally have the results! Our judging panel really had a tough task on their hands – the standard of the entries was so high this year.
After much deliberating the judges finally decided on the winners – who you may have seen announced on social media.
A massive thanks goes to our judging panel: Heather Jacks, Lauren Guthrie, Matt Chapple, The Crafty Pinup, Jade Earley and Angeline Murphy – who were tasked with the incredibly tough job of deciding which sewing projects topped the list.
And thank you to everyone that entered the Simplicity Sewing challenge. Congratulations to the chosen winners and highly commended stitchers – who we have listed below.
Winner: Hoffi Coffi. The judges said: ‘great pattern matching attention and the balance of horizontal lines across the skirt section is awesome. Hats off to you HoffiCoffi!’
Highly commended: Frankie Knit. The judges said: ‘she’s done really well at recycling elements from old clothes, so well done for sustainability. Also – great attention to detail on the bodice lining.’

Winner: Lizzie Thimble.
Highly commended: Megan Parkinson. Judge Matt Chapple said: ‘The addition of self-covered buttons along with the great accuracy of the waistband and zip’ makes Megan a worthy highly commended stitcher.
Highly commended: Sew and Snip.
Winner: Oh So She Sews.
Highly commended: Emily. The judges said: ‘the shoulders fit really well, and it sounds as if sewing with knits will no longer be feared!’

Winner: ZippyTip. The judges said: ‘love the colour and balance of this item. It looks really professional.’
Highly commended: Moody Cat Crafts. The judges said: ‘great applique and fantastic work all round.’
