Pattern Favourites: Wide Legged Trousers

We have gathered some of our favourite wide legged trouser patterns for you today, so have a look and hopefully you’ll find a look that works for you.

Pattern: Vogue 1685.
These wide legged trousers are fab-u-lous! Vogue 1685 comes in two length variations, so you can wear this pattern all year round. The design features two front pleats, side pockets, a back zip and a waistband.

Pattern: Simplicity 8889.
Designed by Mimi G, this pattern has a lot of lovely features such as: a button fly, belt loops, cuffs, lots of pockets, and the list goes on! Simplicity 8889 also includes a shirt with a high low hem so you can recreate the whole look.

Pattern: McCall’s 7911.
Floaty and fabulous, McCall’s 7911 might just win a prize for widest legs in today’s pattern collection! This beautiful design is fully lined with a sheer overlay, and it closes with an invisible back zipper and a hook and eye.

Pattern: Butterick 6223.
Of course, unmissable in this gathering of wide legged trouser patterns: culottes! Make Butterick 6223 with an elasticized waistband (cut on crosswise grain), pleats, tucks and side pockets.

Pattern: McCall’s 7907.
McCall’s 7907 features a fly front, belt carriers, pretty pleat details, and side seam pockets. Choose from 4 different variations: a flared leg plus cargo pockets, a balloon leg (featured), flared leg which gathers to a band or a simple flared leg.

Pattern: Vogue 1661.
If you are looking for a gorgeous pair of trousers which stands out from the crowd, Vogue 1661 is it! These flared trousers have a raised waistline with pleats sewn down from the top, and side seam pockets. Choose from a fly front opening or a centre back invisible zipper.

Pattern: Simplicity 8698.
Simplicity 8698 is bound to be super comfortable as it’s designed for cosy knit fabrics. Add the side stripes to give these joggers a chic look! Choose from a wide leg or slim leg design and add side zips or slits.

Pattern: McCall’s 8007.
McCall’s 8007 features a fabulously wide boot cut! This pattern will look amazing in denim, corduroy, canvas or a sturdy twill. Play with the panels and contrasting fabrics to really make it stand out.

Pattern: Butterick 6715.
Butterick is perfect if you are looking for a chic pair of trousers with lots of different styling options. Make them cropped or long length, and add decorative buttons, a waist tie, cuffs, and/or a belt.

Pattern: Simplicity 8605.
This lovely pair of high paper bag waist trousers features a pull on design with pockets and tie belt. Simplicity 8605 is definitely a wardrobe staple that you’ll wear over and over again!
