Pattern Favourites: T-shirts
A simple T-shirt is a garment that most people have in their wardrobes, and probably even more than one. And when you find a simple T-shirt pattern with the right fit, you’ll use it over and over again. It’s definitely a wardrobe staple and we thought we would have a look at some simple T-shirt patterns, but also at some great variations to make your staple that little bit more interesting.

Pattern: Burda 6611.
Burda 6611 is a basic jersey T-shirt pattern that is incredibly easy to make and easy to wear. The pattern includes a V-neck and a round neckline design and you can choose from short or long sleeves.
Pattern: Burda 7098.
This basic T-shirt adds extra shape with bust darts, and you can choose to add a different (colour) fabric to the bottom. This pattern also includes a cardigan with short sleeves, perfect for when it gets a bit chillier on warmer days!
Pattern: Simplicity 1463.
This pattern includes 5 fantastic top designs including a scoop neck high low top with the option to add banded sleeves and/or a crossed back detail. Plus three V-neck tops with lace flutter sleeves, studs or peekaboo lace in the neckline. The possibilities are endless!
Pattern: New Look 6216.
A T-shirt with grown on sleeves must be one of the simplest of makes! No setting in sleeves means it will be super quick too. Choose from a scoop neck or higher neckline and from short grown on sleeves or 3/4 dolman sleeves. The pattern also includes pull-on trousers with a drawstring waist.
Pattern: New Look 6217.
Not only does this pattern come with a lovely T-shirt top which a keyhole design at the back, it also comes with a jacket, a pencil skirt and a trouser pattern. Perfect for building your own little capsule wardrobe!
Pattern: New Look 6225.
Not all T-shirts are made exclusively for knitted and stretchy fabrics. New Look 6225 is a top designed for woven fabrics such as cotton, silk, or rayon, to name a few. Choose from 2 different scoop necklines, and it can be made with three-quarter, short or cap sleeves. Change it up with contrast sleeves and/or neck band and make it your favourite go-to top.
Pattern: New Look 6230.
Pair this super comfortable knit baseball T-shirt with the pencil skirt or the flared skirt that is included with the pattern for a sporty but stylish look. The shirt can be made with a banded round or V-neckline and 3/4 or long sleeves.
Pattern: Simplicity 6463.
Simplicity 6463 is designed for woven fabrics and comes with four lovely variations. Add a bit of flair by adding a flounce to the hem and/or sleeves, and you can choose from elbow length sleeves or short sleeves with a contrasting band.
Pattern: New Look 6556.
A comfortable jersey T-shirt pattern with a twist! Make this pattern with the special feature on the front and an asymmetric hem or keep it simple with a plain front and a high-low hem. Choose from cap, short or 3/4 sleeves.
Pattern: Burda 6428.
Burda 6428 features a wide slightly V-shaped neckline to show off your shoulders. It looks effortlessly stylish with the short sleeves and beautiful neckline flounce, but you can also create the top with the same V-shaped neckline and long raglan sleeves.
Pattern: Burda 6310.
Take your love for T-shirts and comfy clothes to the next level with this fab T-shirt dress! It’s basically a lengthened T-shirt with optional casings at the waist to cinch it in, long or short sleeves, a drawstring hem, a hood and in-seam pockets.
