Pattern Favourites: Festive Party Dresses
The festive season is on its way, and even though this years celebrations will look very different for the most of us, we hope to enjoy the holidays, and dress up despite everything. Making a handmade party dress might just be the thing we need to keep our minds occupied and to get into a festive mood. Check some of our favourite dress patterns below and hopefully you’ll be inspired to join us and make a party dress for yourself!

Pattern: McCall’s 8109.
McCall’s 8109 is a short ruched pull-on dress with or without sleeves. The rusched design is lovely and an added bonus for those of you that are looking for a comfy dress; it is designed for stretch knits.

Pattern: Simplicity 9173.
Is casual chic more your style? Simplicity 9173 features a shaped bodice with pleats, and a shaped princess seamed skirt in two lengths. Choose from long sleeves, short sleeves, or flutter sleeves.

Pattern: Vogue 1695.
Isn’t the big bow perfect for the festive season? This fabulous feature is created by the the collar which ends into long ties. Vogue 1695 is a loose fitting dress with dropped shoulders and two different variations.

Pattern: McCall’s 8104.
The super trendy McCall’s 8104 pattern is a beautiful design with an empire seam and button front. The pattern includes three wonderful sleeve options and flounce variations. This design is perfect if you want to make something festive and want to wear it all year round.

The fabulous statement sleeves of Simplicity 9098 are a dream! This deep U-neckline dress is designed by Cynthia Rowley and it will look great as a top too.

Pattern: Vogue 1723.
Going all out? Vogue 1723 is certainly a show stopper! It is a very loose-fitting, lined pull-on dress, with a stand collar that extends into ties at back. It also features a slit opening at the neck, side seam pockets, and balloon sleeves with stay.
