May Sewing Challenges!

It’s the beginning of May and we’re really enjoying seeing so many of you joining in with some of the fun sewing challenges this month. One of our favourites is Me-Made-May organised by blogger Zoe Edwards. It’s is a challenge designed to encourage people who make their own clothes to develop a better relationship with their handmade wardrobe. Most sewists share their me made wardrobes on social media to take stock and appreciate what they’ve made so far. Use #MeMadeMay2019 to get inspired and share your own makes.

Another challenge we really like is Sew Together For Summer. This is a community based challenge to encourage and support sewists of all skill sets to complete a specific garment type. This year it’s all about the one piece! So think of Jumpsuits, Dungarees, overalls, boiler suits, catsuits etc. Use #SewTogetherForSummer join in on the fun and to enter the competition.

We’ve gathered some lovely wardrobe staples if you’re interested in expanding your every day handmade wardrobe, perfect for Me-Made-May! And scroll down for one piece inspiration so you can join Sew Together For Summer!
