Maker’s Showcase: July


Can you believe we wrapped up July last week? So once again it’s time to look back at the past few weeks and see what the sewing community have been up to.

Pattern: McCall’s M7946

We have fallen for this stunning McCall’s M7946 dress that Keira @islandsewcialist made. With it’s stunning neckline and elasticated details, I’m sure you’ll agree it has a place in any me-made wardrobe of dreams!

Pattern: McCall’s M7565

We love seeing a little something extra added to your projects, and the sequin detail @dinigooseandbird  added to the collar of this McCalls 7565 blouse is just wonderful. We can see why she describes it as a patriotic dress!

Pattern: Simplicity S8873

Anyone else crushing on this wonderful strawberry print summer dress by @creativiteebyt? Talisha used our Simplicity S8873 pattern designed by Gertie and we absolutely adore it! The pattern and fabric pairing are spot on, it’s the sweetest summer dress.

Pattern: Butterick B5209

If you love a little vintage-inspired sewing then you will love this stunning Butterick B5209 by Sarah @timeislikeabrokenwatch. We LOVE the fruity print fabric, it’s the perfect match for this pattern!

Pattern: Simplicity B8591

Now this is pattern and fabric perfection! The @thesurlysailor used Simplicity B8591 and a suitably nautical fabric. Hands up who else wants to make this too?!

Pattern: New Look 6571

Do we have any Sewing Bee fans in the house? Raph @raph_sew_and_so delivered some real show-stoppers and this one makes us think we should get a head start on sewing a party dress! Raph used our New Look 6571 pattern with some of his own magic to create a stunning dress that you wouldn’t believe is handmade!

Pattern: McCall’s M7969

Will we ever tire of McCall’s M7969? We don’t think so! @susan.rusinowski used a gingham fabric for her make. It definitely has the formula for a dreamy summer dress don’t you think?

Patterns: Simplicity S8950 and Simplicity S1165

How much fun this is summer outfit Luna made? @lunalorce tie-dyed the S8950 top and paired it with the S1165 shorts – what a dreamy combination!

Pattern: McCall’s M7974

Looking for the perfect summer dress? @myellowindow used McCall’s M7974 to sew this pretty button-up dress that would be ideal attire for a picnic!

Pattern: McCall’s M7970

Wrap dresses are very popular with sewists at the moment, and @emma_etlacouture made a beautiful summer wrap dress using McCall’s M7970. Flutter sleeves and florals are a perfect pairing, don’t you think?
