The UK’s Biggest Pattern House

Maker’s Showcase: February

Another month has past – 2020 sure is flying by already.. As always we’ve been inspired by seeing all your wonderful creations online and we wanted to share a few with you today. Hopefully you’ll be inspired too, and you’ll sew something for yourself! When you do, please don’t forget to share it with us on social media using the hashtags #simplicitybyme or #mccallsbyme. We love nothing more than to follow along your sewing adventures!

The lovely @gingerthreadgrl was the very last blogger to participate in our hack-along series and she made sure to go out with a bang! Jen used the Simplicity 8658 top and transformed it into this fab dress with shirred details. Read more about her sewing adventures on her blog.

It’s amazing how different a pattern can look in different fabrics. @carmen.salome4 has whipped up the Vogue 8379 – twice! She’s done a great review of it on her YouTube channel, so got have a watch if you want to know more about these two wonderful dresses.

Isn’t this the MOST fabulous coat? It is made by @mrs.cholbrook, using the Vogue 9347 coat pattern. We are in love with those fantastic statement buttons and of course her fabric choice. One can never has too much leopard in their life. Fact!

Wow… just wow! @timeless_styling has used the Vogue Patterns V9268 to make this beautiful fuchsia dress – designed by Kathryn Brenne – to go with her beloved coat. It’s a match made in heaven!

We are in love with @burieddiamond ‘s coat… That fabric is to die for! She’s used Butterick 6244 to make it, her only regret was not adding pockets in the side seam. Luckily they can be added afterwards!

A serious bit of sewing inspiration for you all from @sewrena_ who’s Instagram feed is a veritable feast of all things vintage. This rather delightful dress is the Simplicity 2928 and I think you’ll all agree it’s pink perfection!

@shimmyshimmysewsewbop is making us dream of summer dresses and picnics at the park – even though you can see snow in the background! She’s made the McCalls 7925 dress in a beautiful swoon worthy floral fabric.
