The UK’s Biggest Pattern House

Maker’s showcase: August

It’s that time of the month when we share all the fantastic makes you’ve been sewing up for your handmade wardrobes.  As we head into September, it’s a great opportunity to look back over the Summer and all the wonderful outfits you’ve taken on holiday and made for special occasions such as family celebrations. Don’t forget to share your latest makes with us on social media using the hashtags #simplicitybyme or #mccallsbyme

Top to toe in our patterns @chloe_kiser has nailed an understated summer look with linen to keep you cool and monochrome means you’re always in style.
Her top is New Look 0602, the trousers New Look 6518 and jacket is Simplicity 1319.

When life gives you lemons… you make a wrap skirt! Gorgeous maker inspiration from @nerrisapratt who’s made rather a few of our Simplicity 8606 skirts.

Take a look at @thecamdenstitch who’s made the Butterick B6318 in the most beautiful stripe. We want one too!

We love this Butterick B5030 wrap dress from @brittanyjjones in a beautiful floral sateen. It’s the perfect outfit to wear for a family celebration.

We’re big fans of @shaunimagnifique‘s sewing and this jumpsuit is the bees knees – the use of print on the Simplicity 8608 is out of this world!

We’ve loving this super chic summer dress from McCalls M7740, made by @MaddieMadeThis. Reminds us of warm summer days strolling in the park.

We just need to take a moment to appreciate the bell sleeves on @bobbinandbaste who has made the Vogue® Patterns V9123. You can never have enough statement sleeves in your handmade wardrobe.

@beatricewinter is totally nailing the wedding outfit game in her asymmetric Simplicity 2053 – love the hat too!

Another on trend make is this Butterick B6542 cold shoulder top made by @anitabydesign.

Brand ambassador and all round sewing guru @wendygardinersews has whipped up a Butterick B5706 for this month’s Sew Today magazine in the perfect print!

@itsasiaserena‘s outfit was inspired by a Chanel suit and we LOVE the colour! The skirt is a Butterick 5466 and the top is a New Look 6411 – definitely feeling the Chanel vibe.

Who doesn’t need a another shirtdress in their lives? This is the McCall’s M7387 and is so on trend in the Pantone colour of the year. Made by @jenny.maker

There’s nothing mellow about this yellow from @tiptopsewing who’s made the Butterick B6485 in a beautiful viscose! Viscose fabrics have such a nice drape and soften garments such as shirt dresses.

Did you catch our latest blog post? Amy, editor of Love Sewing magazine shared her me-made wedding dress this month and gives top tips for anyone thinking of sewing their own.
