Whether you’re lucky enough to have a whole room to yourself, or you’ve found a corner in your home that you can call your own – when it comes to sewing, it’s important to have some space set aside to get inspired, become creative and start making.
Here are some of our favourite pics, for inspiration on sprucing up your sewing space:
File your Fabric
If you love sewing, then the chances of walking past a fabric shop without purchasing something is highly unlikely. Which is why we love this idea – keeping your fabric in good condition and hiding your latest purchase from preying eyes!
Purchase a peg board
If space is at a premium, a peg board is a must have! We love how this stitcher has transformed this small space, showing how your sewing accessories can be a feature rather an eye sore.
Use the board to house your pretty threads and other bits and bobs.
If you’re short of table space, this is a real winner. Not only does it give you plenty of space to stretch out your patterns, it also doubles up as a cupboard – for your haberdashery. Very clever and not too expensive to make either!
Invest in Storage
If you’ve got a bit of room to play with, then make sure you invest in storage. It’s worth every penny – turning a messy room (we prefer to call it creative clutter!) into a sewing sanctuary.
Have you spruced up your sewing space recently? We’d love to see pics. Send to Simplicity’s Twitter, Facebook or Instagram page – we’ll be sharing our favs!
