Hackalong Challenge Round up of Blogger Makes Part 2

After 16 weeks of fabulous hacks, we’re so sad to see the end of the Simplicity Hack-along in aid of the Eve Appeal! If you aren’t familiar with the challenge, you can read more about it here.

As you might know, we’ve organised a blogger tour to spread the word about the challenge and to provide you with all the inspiration you need to try these patterns yourself. In the past few weeks, we’ve seen so many amazing hacks of the 9 selected Simplicity patterns, we are very grateful and inspired by these wonderful makers.

You can check out the first 6 hacks in this blog post, and to see the last 10 you just need to scroll down. Enjoy!

The lovely Amy aka Almond Rock mastered gathering with 3 meters (!) of fabric to make her Simplicity 8929 skirt! Her fantastic hack has added another tier to the bottom and we think it looks fantastic. We can’t think of a nicer skirt to swoosh around in…

Victoria – who blogs as Victoria Lucille Anne made not one, but two hacks! The one pictured here is the Simplicity 8701 and we’re swooning over ‘that’ insert down the side of the trousers. Head to her blog to read the full scoop and the other hacked trousers.

Sara who is also known as The Sara Project has made a grrrrreat version of the Simplicity top pattern 8658. We love how’s she’s added a separate piece into the sleeve to create more volume. Are you intrigued? See more photos and a little video about her hack over on Sara’s blog.

This beautiful floral dream dress is made by Carolyn from Handmade by Carolyn. She’s hacked the Simplicity 8658 top into this fantastic dress that is perfect for frolicking on the beach!

Rumana aka The Little Pomegranate hacked Simplicity 8888 and the end result is smashing! Head over to Rumana’s blog to have a read of her sewing adventure (spoiler alert: it went with ups and downs, but it has a happy ending)!

Here’s another fantastic hack of Simplicity pattern 8888. This one is made by the talented Emily from Self Assembly required and she completely transformed it into this beautiful dress that has sleeves to die for. Head over to her blog to find out all the details.

This fabulous raincoat is made by Marie of A Stitching Odyssey using the Simplicity 8700 jacket pattern. Like all sewing projects, not all go to plan… But looking at the things that didn’t go right as a learning curve is the best way to move forward! Head over to Marie’s blog to read about the things that went right, and the things that went wrong.

The fantastic Portia from the Makery has turned the Simplicity 8701 pattern into these awesome cropped trousers. We are in love with the angled hip pocket placement! Go check out her blog for some beautiful close ups.

We’ve got not one, not two, but three hacks from the lovely ladies at Pattern Pals! They took Simplicity 8700 and transformed it into three totally different makes… We promise they all used the same pattern! Head over to their YouTube channel to see everything that went into making these jackets and dress.

And last, but certainly not least: Jen who blogs as The Gingerthread Girl transformed the Simplicity 8658 top into a beautiful maternity dress! She tried shirring for the first time and she totally nailed it… She looks stunning!
