Womens' patterns are designed for the larger, more fully mature figure; about 1.65m to 1.68m (5' 5" to 5' 6") without shoes.Womens' Petites patterns are designed for the shorter Miss Figure; about 1.57m to 1.63m (5' 2" to 5' 4") without shoes.
These patterns are sized differently; it is NOT a large-size programme but it is the "proportions" that make this collection different from standard patterns. Today's Fit reflects the way body shapes have changed in recent years - whether that body is small, large or somewhere in between.
Sizes range from a bust of 81 cm to 140 cm (32" to 55"). The patterns are cut smaller in the upper front chest, broader in the back, larger across the tummy and waist, and fuller in the arm. The bust point is lower and cup sizes range from B to D.
To force people to chose their pattern size by their measurements and not their dress size, patterns are sized alphabetically (A to J) and not numerically. To determine your Today's Fit size, take your bust, waist and hip measurements and compare them to the chart below:
Today's Fit patterns have 3 or 4 sizes on one tissue, eg (A B C) (D E F) (G H I J) - so you can cut one size at the bust, another at the waist, and another at the hip.
Infants' sizes are for babies who are not yet walking.
Children's patterns are designed for a young child who is walking and not wearing nappies.
Girls' and Boys' patterns are designed for the girl; or boy who has not yet begun to mature. See chart for approximate heights without shoes.
Girls' Plus patterns are designed to better meet the need and changing body shapes of modern girls.
Mens' patterns are designed for men of average build about 1.78m (5' 10") without shoes.
